5 Tips for Switching to Natural Deodorant

  1. It is not antiperspirant. This concept is still lost on many people. Antiperspirant stops you from sweating, deodorant does not. It is used to stop bacteria from causing you to smell.
  2. Moisturize! Seriously put some lotion on those pits. They are skin too!
  3. Don’t put it on immediately after shaving.
  4. Give it a fair chance, don’t expect to use it from day one and love it. Also, not all natural deodorants are created equal. Don’t be surprised if you have to try a couple to find one you really like.
  5. Some people’s skin cannot tolerate baking soda well. Try a deodorant without baking soda if your skin becomes irritated (although moisturizing and not applying immediately after shaving should help with this too).

I’ve written a few other posts about deodorant. Who knew it was such a fun topic? You can check those out by clicking the links below.

Fun Fact: The yellow staining on white shirts is from antiperspirant, not your sweat! Also if you have been wearing antiperspirant for years, it would be helpful to buy this Nature’s Miracle Stain and Odor Remover Spray to spray on your clothes after wearing. Or you can use this Nature’s Miracle Laundry Boost in your washing machine.
