New Year, Same Me

If you’ve known me for a while, you know that I don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions. Not that they don’t exist, I just personally think they are stupid. Everyday is a good day to set a new goal for yourself, so waiting until the 1st of the year, is pointless.

With all of that said, it doesn’t mean that I don’t believe in setting goals or intentions for yourself. I’m all about having something to move forward towards, so I will be continuing some goals and making a few more for myself.

Here are some of the things I am most proud of from 2018.

I started this blog!! Yep, I started writing about random activewear, recipes, favorites, etc. and putting it out there for the public to read. I’ve also stuck with it, which I’m proud of, and it’s actually been pretty fun!

Traveling to Germany and Holland by myself. Honestly, I was nervous about being alone in countries where I didn’t speak the language at all, but it was so incredibly fun and I’m so proud of myself for going on my own! I did get to meet up with Iris in real life (click for her Instagram) and we had such a great time exploring Keukenhof! I 100% recommend going if you’re there when they are open and the Tulips are in bloom. It’s one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve ever seen!

I stuck with my workouts and found a way to still get to the gym even with a pretty bad wrist injury. I may not have been doing any upper body workouts, but I still figured out a way to get it done. I believe in rest too, I just couldn’t sit around for 9 months waiting for my wrist to heal and do nothing. P.S. I’m having an arthroscopy done a week from today! Fun fact, some of my coworkers called my brace my “barbie arm” and guess what? It’s coming back in 2019 after my surgery!

I completed a “no spending month” where I didn’t buy anything I didn’t NEED for the entire month. It taught me a lot about where my money was going, which is going to be something to keep working on in 2019. I traveled a ton for work, and honesty it was just a good year!

What accomplishments are you proud of from 2018?

Now to continue: my goals!

  • I want to continue to manage my finances, not that I spend a ton or anything. I do however, buy a lot of things I don’t need (activewear). I want to focus on saving more this year.
  • I want to donate more, which means both time and money. I think it’s always important to give back, because I’ve been so blessed with everything I have.
  • I want to tell more people about the blog. Honestly, some of my closest friends and family don’t know about it. How am I supposed to do anything with it if I can’t show it off. (aka be proud of my hard work)
  • I want to practice being more grateful for everything.

Some of the responses I got back from you about your goals include:

  • Being happy and not letting other people’s negative thoughts bring you down or get in your way
  • Eating out less, and focusing on cooking more at home
  • Being better at managing stress

I think those are all great goals! Here’s to another amazing year 🙂
