5 Facts of the Week – April 22nd

This weeks 5 facts of the week coming at you! The last one won’t disappoint. I promise!

  1. A new polar bear “Bam Bam” will be moved to the Kansas City Zoo at the end of this month. This will be the second female polar bear at the KC Zoo. If you’re in Kansas City and like polar bears…now you’ll have two. Two Polar Bears at KC Zoo
  2. Amazon is raising the rates of Amazon Prime memberships to $119. Do you have an Amazon Prime membership? For the longest time I thought Prime was pointless and wasn’t sure why anyone would pay for a membership. Then I paid for it. I honestly don’t know how many times I’ve ordered stuff just because I get free 2-day shipping.  While in a meeting at work my project manager showed us a power strip he uses when traveling abroad.  It has 4 plugs plus 2 USB outlets and you just stick your converter onto it and you can charge all your things at once.  What did I do…I bought one with Prime immediately (while sitting in the meeting). I don’t know if I will keep Prime forever, but it’s definitely a really nice perk when you need it!
  3. This story isn’t for everyone, but after 40 ish years, authorities finally believe that they have caught the Golden State Killer. In the late 1970s he terrorized California, murdering at least 8 victims and authorities believe more than that as well as approximately 50 rapes.  Joseph DeAngelo is who authorities believe to be the Golden State Killer. He was a former police officer with a criminal justice background. I’m sure much more will come to light as this story unfolds.  Let’s just hope that they really have found the guy.
  4. Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed Prince Louis Arthur Charles into the Royal family this week. That is baby number three for the Royal Family.
  5. Apparently an unusually large footprint has instigated a search for “Bigfoot” in the Lee’s Summit area. Also there is a national known Bigfoot hunter named Tom Biscardi.  I honestly didn’t know such a person existed, but apparently this guy gets over 10,000 calls a year about people claiming to spot Bigfoot. “The caves that you people have in Kansas City they’re phenomenal because these are the places where these creatures love to have habitat,” Biscardi said.  What?? Knowing that Bigfoot likes caves is assuming that anyone has ever in the history of humanity actually seen Bigfoot and seen it in a cave! Am I the only person who things this is ridiculous? Maybe I’m too closed-minded, but I find this entire article ridiculous. However, feel free to check it out here.
