Easy Peasy Pizza Pie

Who loves pizza? I do! Who doesn’t? I’m a little picky about my pizza, and I always stick to a traditional red sauce pie. I’m one of those people who thinks pineapple has no place on my slice, but you do you.

We have a local Neapolitan pizza place here, which I love, but sometimes you just want to make pizza at home. I used to make it with Trader Joe’s pizza crust, the ones that come in the refrigerator section in the bread bag. You roll it out, add your toppings, and bake.

Then I discovered Trader Joe’s Tandoori Naan bread, and it’s a game changer. My mom had mentioned that she had made pizza this way with my Aunt. At the time, I didn’t know what naan bread was, so when I found it at TJ’s I had to try it.

I used shredded mozzarella cheese, but I use regular as well, it just depends on what I bought. Any type of sauce will work, pasta sauce, pizza sauce, etc. whatever you prefer.

I don’t thaw the naan bread.  I keep it in the freezer until I’m ready to make my mini pizza. You can add whatever toppings you want.  This time I added some diced bell pepper and sliced turkey meatballs.

I spoon the sauce onto the frozen naan and then add a small portion of my toppings, then add cheese, and the remaining toppings.

I like to bake my pizza in my toaster oven on fan bake.  It gives it that nice bubble top and crisp bottom, although if you don’t have this feature baking it without the fan will work too. If you’re fan baking it takes about 10 minutes, that’s it!.

I usually serve my pizza with a side salad and I’m good to go! Does anyone make naan bread pizza, as I like to call it? If you give it a try let me know what you think!
