Free People Prajna Shorts Review

As you know, I’m looking for the best shorts. My criteria includes:

  • They don’t ride up
  • Fabric is comfortable
  • Squatproof
  • Sweat wicking
  • High-waisted
  • Pockets are a plus
FP Movement Prajna Shorts

Today’s review is the Free People Movement Prajna Shorts. I’ll preface this by saying that these shorts are pretty short, and they do ride up. However, without the front seam the riding up doesn’t bother me so much. If you’re concerned about wearing short shorts to the gym or other places, these shorts may not be your first choice.

The fabric isn’t super buttery soft, and it’s thicker than most fabrics. It’s also kind of a ribbed material. It’s a mix of :

  • 19% Polyester
  • 22% Spandex
  • 59% Nylon

While the fabric is thicker, it’s not super compressive, so if you’re looking for a compression short, this wouldn’t be your first choice. The really nice thing about these not being super compressive is that these don’t dig into the back of your legs. This simply makes these shorts very comfortable.

I’ve had no issues with the shorts going sheer, so I wouldn’t worry about that. Since the material is thicker I haven’t noticed much sweat showing through, however, I haven’t done anything super intense like spin class in them. As always, if you’re worried about sweat, but darker colors.

They are high-waisted which is great, however, the shape of the shorts almost seems like they didn’t leave space for your butt. What I mean by this is that the waistband kind of dips down in the middle of your back instead of being even around your entire waist.

The shorts have no pockets, which is kind of a downfall. Overall I like these shorts, they aren’t super expensive compared to some of the other shorts I tried. You could wear them in normal life too, rather than just to the gym. I did buy a second pair, so that means I like them enough to spend more money on them. If they made a few little changes they could be better but as they are I’d give them an 8/10.
