Favorite Socks

Socks, no one really thinks about them until they are uncomfortable or slipping off your heal while you’re halfway through your 5k. Either way, socks are something you just want to do their job.

I’m pretty particular about my socks, ok fine, I’m an engineer, I’m pretty particular about a lot of things šŸ˜‰

My I wear these for everything socks:

Balega Hidden Comfort – These socks are great for everything from running a 10k to wearing to work in your boots. They don’t slide down off of my heel, that’s a major deal breaker for me! They are decently supportive, but aren’t super thick. They are soft and I haven’t noticed them losing any softness as I’ve worn them over and over again. They come in a ton of colors, so if that’s important to you…they’ve got you covered. I seriously have about 4 pair of bright pink and 10 pair of gray. Those just happened to be the colors on sale when I bought them! I also have a few pair in size small and the rest in size medium. I’m a size medium based on their size chart, but I’ve honestly not noticed much of a difference between them, again, bought the size small because they were on sale and available.

I’m not a fan of the Hidden Dry, they are really thin and kind of a slick material. I notice that because of this, they seem to slide around a lot inside my shoes, especially when I’m running. I’m not cool with that!

I’m also not a fan of the Hidden Contour, because I feel like it fits higher on your foot. Just my personal preference though!

If i’m looking for a no show sock, that actually stays on my heel, I’m reaching for my Stance Uncommon Invisible Liner Socks. I’ve talked about these before. These socks are a little pricey, but they stay on your foot! They are my go to socks if I’m wearing Keds, or a low shoe where I don’t want my socks showing. I’ve worn them for workouts with my tennis shoes too, but I wouldn’t run a race in them.

If I’m looking for a fun, inspirational sock, Notes to Self Socks are always fun! Their low cut socks are a little high for wearing with tennis shoes, in my opinion, but are good with boots. Their ultra low cut socks are newer, and could probably worn as “no-show” if you’re into that. I haven’t tried them yet, but plan to! It’s fun to look down and see something awesome on your socks though, like “I am awesome” or “I am strong.” They also make GREAT gifts!
