RX Nut Butter Hack

I bet you’ve seen that RXBAR has nut butters.  I bet you’ve even thought…ooo that looks good, and then you realize they cost $15.99 for 10 little packets! No offense RX, but that’s a little expensive.

After reading the ingredients I thought to myself “I have all of these things at home already.” I tried making my own honey cinnamon peanut butter, and it was delicious.  I almost couldn’t stop eating it. If you don’t know, cinnamon is my ALL TIME FAVORITE SPICE! I’m talking, I put cinnamon on/in everything. If you have everything on hand this recipe takes online few minutes to whip up.

What do you need:

  • Eggwhite Protein (I use Life Balance brand from Trader Joe’s)
  • Honey (I have a giant jar from my local farmer’s market)
  • Cinnamon
  • Peanut Flour (I have THIS peanut flour I purchased off of Amazon)
  • Water

Instructions:

Combine dry ingredients and honey: 1/4 cup Pure Eggwhite Protein, 1 tablespoon Honey, 1/2 tablespoon Cinnamon (you can add more or less depending on how much you like cinnamon), and 1/3 cup Peanut Flour in bowl.

Slowly add 1/4 cup of water until you reach the consistency that you want for your peanut butter. I would start with less than 1/4 cup and add more as you go.

You can spread it on toast, use as a dip for fruit, add it to granola bars, anything you’d use peanut butter for. I added it to my Greek yogurt (homemade from THIS post) with some granola and strawberries!

That’s all folks!
