5 Facts of the Week – May 27th

  1. Finally someone is talking about juicing and it’s not “amazing for you.” There is zero reason to ever do a “juice cleanse”….zero. Check it out HERE.
  2. Kansas City now has it’s first transatlantic flight! Iceland Air announced earlier this year that they would start flying direct from Kansas City to Iceland.  I’m actually pretty excited about this, because I’ve been wanting to go to Iceland for a couple years now.  Let’s hope this flight sticks around!
  3. Have you been paying attention to the news.  My no TV challenge is over, but I still haven’t been watching.  I did however read a couple articles about the death toll in Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria may be upwards of 4,600 as opposed to the Government’s statement of 64. That is an unbelievable discrepancy. There are STILL people on the island without power, which is 8 months after the hurricane hit Puerto Rico. This is unimaginable. You can read more about this HERE.
  4. Volcanic eruptions are still continuing in Hawaii and, mandatory evacuations are currently underway for people near the eruptions. It’s been four weeks since it started, causing about 2,500 people to be displaced and at least 75 homes to be destroyed.  Read more HERE.
  5. Do you know how to spell “cetacean”? Don’t worry I don’t either. I’ll be honest, I had to Google it just to find out what it meant. That’s the word that knocked Sophia Nguyen out of the National Spelling Bee. Bummer for her, but still a great job.  Check it out HERE.
