March Birchbox
If you don’t now what Birchbox is, it’s a monthly subscription box of beauty products. It’s essentially a way to try out beauty and skin care products without buying the full size item. You typically get 5-6 samples of products each month, and if you love them you can purchase the full size items from Birchbox as well. They also sell numerous brands and products to buy online, even if you don’t get the subscription box. When you buy things you can earn points to use on future purchases.
They even have a storefront in NYC that I made a point to stop into when I was there. It was bright and clean, and I spent way more time than I should have. Luckily I hadn’t checked a bag, so I couldn’t buy as many products as I wanted to! I’m a little biased though, as I’ve been getting boxes every month since 2015! I even sent my step-sister a 3-month subscription for her Birthday last year. If you know anyone who loves beauty and skin care it can be a great gift idea!
So how does it work? You sign up and set up a beauty profile. This is based on your skin type and tone, hair and eye color, preferences, etc. Each month you have the option to be surprised (don’t choose any samples), log in and choose 1 sample (from 3 options), or you can choose the “curated” box (they show you all the samples you will receive). I usually only choose 1 sample and choose to be surprised by the others.
Each month you receive a fancy looking box with your samples inside. There’s also a card telling you what your samples are.

I have really liked all of the OUAI and R+Co hair products I’ve received in the past, so I’m excited to try these. I think I’m most excited to try the Rituals Happy Budda Shower gel. It’s a sweet orange and cedarwood scent, and I love citrus things!
